PROJECTS
BETHESDA ROW
Michael Kindzierski served as Lead Architect for this award winning project which was on the forefront of new urbanism and incorporates strategies for a live work and play environment.

Intended to create a special urban place that reflects the character of Bethesda, this shopping district re-establishes the center of an existing downtown neighborhood. A variety of new uses enlivens days and nights with one-of-a-kind shops, restaurants, offices, apartments and entertainment venues. The unique urban character of the new buildings mirrors that of the older buildings in Bethesda and a wonderful street and sidewalk experience features shade trees, outdoor restaurants and cafes, fountains and public art. Bethesda Row received the Citizen's Neighborhood Coalition award for the Most Beautiful Place in Bethesda and has become the new Town Center of Bethesda as polled by Washingtonian magazine. Bethesda Row also received the Urban Land Institute Award for Excellence and the Congress For The New Urbanism Charter Award for Best Block in America.
